About

The purpose of the Collectors of Canadian Brewery Advertising is:

  • To encourage the preservation and collecting of Canadian brewery artifacts including bottles, advertising, and other point of sale memorabilia.
  • To educate the members and public with regards to Canada’s brewing heritage and to maintain and preserve that history.
  • To promote fellowship among collectors.

Our History

The Collectors of Canadian Brewery Advertising can trace our roots to 1980 when the first convention was held in Toronto under the banner of The Canadian Brewerianist, which is an informative subscription magazine owned by Loren Newman of Bright’s Grove, Ontario.

Many successful conventions were held under The Canadian Brewerianist appellation and later under the Canadian Brewerianist Society moniker. But it became evident as time passed that the term Breweriana and Brewerianist were both difficult to enunciate and understand for the general public.

In an effort to clarify our purpose and name, we adopted “Collectors of Canadian Brewery Advertising” in 2007 at our convention in Fernie, British Columbia. Thus creating a distinctively independent organization.
